KUALA LUMPUR – Sebanyak lima juta tong sampah bergerak bagi pembuangan sisa organic seperti makanan akan diagihkan secara berperingkat kepada semua kediaman di Semenanjung Malaysia pada tahun 2012.
Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal Negara, Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan, Datuk Nazri Yahaya berkata, setiap kediaman akan menerima sebuah tong sampah percuma yang bertujuan meningkatkan kesedaran terhadap kepentingan aktiviti kitar semula dan menjaga alam sekitar.
