TANGGAL 1 September 2011 menandakan bermulanya penguatkuasaan Akta Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal dan Pembersihan Awam (Akta 672) yang akan membawa suatu transformasi kepada pengurusan sisa pepejal dan pembersihan awam negara demi menjadikan Malaysia sebuah negara yang bersih, indah dan sejahtera. 

Perbadanan Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal dan Pembersihan Awam (PPSPPA) merupakanagensi ditubuhkan untuk memberikan perkhidmatan pengurusan sisa pepejal dan pembersihan awam yang efisien, bersepadu di samping memberikan kepuasan yang lebih baik kepada pengguna.

AT least we in Malaysia don’t have to do this where solid waste management is concerned: In a certain town in the Philippines, engaged couples must attend a lecture on solid waste management and tree planting in order to secure their marriage licence – all because of “the alarming issue of climate change and global warming and many couples are not even aware of the need to keep a balanced ecology”.
