National Recycling Industry Players and Stakeholders In Determining National Recycling Rates

The working group is spearheaded by The Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation
(SWCorp). WMAM as supporting association in Malaysia. This engagement is aimed at creating collaboration
etween the government and stakeholders who are directly involved in the recycling industry in Malaysia.

WMAM is part of the NCEC as supporting association representing waste management industries in Malaysia. The meeting of 2024 was chaired by YB Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Housing and Local Government.

• International Zero Waste Day

March 30th is International Day of Zero Waste.  Webinar “Our Trash, Our Responsibility” online sharing session, to learn best practices of waste management, environmentally friendly technologies, and to recognize the role we can play to contribute to environmental sustainability. ♻️

• Youth Engagement Day

Youth movement to promote best practices in waste management happening today in Sunway Campus partnered with Maybank and Sunway University Students. @myroaringcareers

Delegation from Canada (25 March 2024)
WMAM as supporting association for delegation from Canada by organizing and promoting B2B between Malaysia and Canada’s companies. The delegation consists of 30 delegates and was led by the Canada Trade Mission in Malaysia.

Visit by China Association of Urban Environmental Sanitation (CAUES) in Malaysia.
Fruitful discussions on Malaysia’s Waste Management insights and sharing of landfill management in China.WMAM also involved in project working groups, workshops, speakers’ invitation, engagement meetings and public awareness campaigns.

9- 10 August 2023
Visit by 28 Taiwan Delegates.
The delegation consists for various waste management industries players & green products manufacturers from Taiwan.  The visit is followed by “2023 Bio-Circular Green Solution Demo Day”.

23 – 25 October 2023
WMAM as project partner for the German delegation to Malaysia organised by Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The visit is followed by the Conference on Waste Management & Recycling Industry and B2Bs.

27 – 28 November 2023
Visit by Turkish Delegation today lead by Ostim Yenilenebilir Enerji ve Çevre Teknolojileri Kümelenmesi and Ministry of Trade, Turkey. The visit is followed by B2Bs.
